Sacred and Profane: the landscapes of Kent
Saturday 28 September at St Paul’s church, Canterbury CT1 1NH

In conjunction with Dr Sheila Sweetinburgh of Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) the SLS committee are proud to invite registrations for the 2024 national conference and field meeting. The Saturday Conference will be in St Paul’s church in the city, we have a programme of expert speakers, all concerned with the history, geography, and archaeology of the Kent landscape.

Twice a year the Society publishes its respected, internationally refereed journal Landscape History. It offers a common meeting-ground for all concerned with the material and cultural evaluation of human use of the land.

We also publish a supplementary series and these are available through the shop.

Our Journal - Landscape History

The Society for Landscape Studies provides a forum for all those interested in a multidisciplinary approach to the study of the landscape and its evolution.

Membership of the Society for Landscape Studies is open to anyone interested in the landscape and its history. Members receive Landscape History, the Society’s newsletter, and discounted rates for the Society’s annual conference and field meetings.
