Promoting the study of the landscape in all its aspects

The Society for Landscape Studies provides a forum for all those interested in a multidisciplinary approach to the study of the landscape and its evolution.

Twice a year the Society publishes its respected, internationally refereed journal Landscape History. It offers a common meeting-ground for all concerned with the material and cultural evaluation of human use of the land.

We also publish a supplementary series and these are available through the shop.

Our Journal - Landscape History

Dear SLS member,

On behalf of the committee, I would like to apologise for the late arrival of our summer newsletter. This is due to circumstances beyond everybody’s control. Subject to present issues around post and rail, this should soon be delivered, and before Christmas. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank those members and supporters who have helped me to put together this belated edition. I am planning the next edition will be produced during March 2023. If anybody has a piece they might want to place in our newsletter, then do please get in touch via the website under .

Hadrian Cook (acting newsletter editor)
